Retired General Daya Ratnayake, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority says that the Port Security Division has been reorganized, with the establishment of a Narcotics office.
"The newly established narcotics office has carried out a number of successful operations so far. For the first time in history, it has been established in the port, which has allowed for the prevention of large scale irregularities, frauds and thefts," he said.
He also said that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the Sri Lanka Ports Authority was able to generate a successful revenue in the first quarter of 2021.
