Sri Lanka Navy said that nine divers have been deployed to investigate a suspected water leak in the stern area of the compromised X-Press Pearl container ship.
While addressing the media, Navy Spokesperson Captain Indika De Silva stated that the fire onboard the ill-fated vessel was somewhat completely contained, however, it is believed that the engine rooms in the stern area of the vessel were flooded and thus a tilt to the rear was observed.
The salvors are expected to take the necessary measures to address the issue.
