Navy intercept foreign vessel with 60 Kg of narcotics

A foreign vessel was intercepted by the Sri Lanka Navy and nine persons along with a large quantity of narcotics were taken into custody.

The Sri Lankan Navy apprehended the fishing vessel without flag state and registration markings on the hull in deep sea off the Southern Coast of Galle.

The narcotics apprehended, believed to be heroin with an approximate weight of 60 Kg, along with the nine persons and the fishing vessel is currently being escorted to the Galle Harbour for further investigations.
