Navy rescues 75-year-old German national
The Sri Lanka Navy today rescued a 75-year-old German woman who had fallen sick aboard MSC Magnifica cruise ship.
The patient was rescued following a request made by MSC Magnifica’s Captain to move the patient for medical treatment.
The lady has been admitted to the National Hospital, Colombo.
Meanwhile, a crew member who serves as a chef aboard MSC Magnifica, was brought ashore by the Navy this morning and has been sent to the Boossa quarantine centre for a period of 21 days.
The crew member had requested the Sri Lankan government to bring him back to the country.
The MSC Magnifica, which is heading towards Italy from Austrailia with 2700 passengers on board, arrived at the Colombo Port for refueling today.
