The Railway Department has taken steps to cancel nearly 30 passenger trains, including office trains, during the upcoming New Year festive season.
Accordingly, the trains will be canceled tomorrow (13) and the day after tomorrow (14) only, the Railway Department said.
However, special trains will be operated as usual for those traveling to the countryside and those returning to Colombo for the New Year season, they said.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Transport Dilum Amunugama stated that a special bus service will be operated during the New Year season for people traveling to rural areas without any problems.
