A new 20 rupee coin issued to mark the 70th anniversary of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) is to be added for circulation from March, the President's Media Division said.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has announced that 5 million coins will be added to the currency from March 3.
The new coin was presented by the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Prof. W.D. Lakshman to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (24).
This is a commemorative coin issued to mark the 70th anniversary of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The coin is made of nickel-plated steel with a 7-sided shape.
