New apparel factory in Koggala to create over 600 jobs

Aura Apparel Exports (Pvt) Ltd, a 100% export industry company, has opened a manufacturing plant in Koggala employing 400 workers, with over 200 more to be provided employment within the next two years. The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka has signed an agreement with Aura Apparel Exports for this purpose, with the plant becoming operational on 25 February at the BOI Koggala Export Processing Zone. As per the agreement, Aura took over an existing manufacturing plant that had been in operation, but had relocated overseas. The Agreement was signed by Dinesh Suranga, Chairman of Aura Apparel Exports and Champika Malalgoda, Director General of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka. Suranga stated, “I have 20 years’ experience in the Apparel industry and I know it well and I am confident of its success.  The BOI was very supportive.” Aura Apparel Exports produces Woven and knitting garments including shirts, blouses, trousers and lingerie to the USA and European Markets.
