A set of new Emergency Laws and Regulations
Gazette Extraordinary No. 2121/1 32A and 32B were accepted yesterday (29) and will take effect immediately.
These regulations include the prohibition to wear any garment, clothing or other material concealing the full face in any
public place, including buildings, motorways, in any mode of transport and in recreational open areas.
In addition, the new Gazette also prohibits the engagement in any religious, extremist or radical ideologies under Emergency Regulation proceedings.
These new regulations will be implemented as per the
Emergency (Miscellaneous Provisions and Powers) Regulations, No. 1 of 2019 published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 2120/5, of April 22, 2019.
