New petrol shipment to be unloaded today

A petrol cargo weighing 35,000 metric tonnes was expected to arrive in Colombo last night (11), Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said yesterday, with the unloading process of this fuel shipment slated to begin today (12). The payment for this petrol cargo was settled on Wednesday (10) with the assistance of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), Wijesekera said further. The Minister also held a meeting with the management of Lanka Indian Oil Corporation (LIOC) yesterday. “Met with LIOC management, dealers, and stakeholders on the invitation of LIOC Managing Director Manoj Gupta. Was pleased to see the progress LIOC has made, the relationship with the stakeholders, and the contribution to the sector. Discussed the QR system, requirements, and future plans,” he posted on Twitter.
