The water level of Nilwala Ganga has reached minor flood level, Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said today.
People living in high risk areas of Panadugama and Pitabaddara have been urged to evacuate to safer places.
Meanwhile, the water level of Gin Ganga also reached minor flood levels today at Thawalama and Baddegama areas.
Those living in Neluwa, Thawalama, Kotapola have been advised to evacuate to safer ground.
DMC further noted that heavy showers above 100 mm were expected in the Nuwara-Eliya, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kaluthara, Galle & Matara districts within the next 24 hours.
