The Parliamentary Council has approved the appointment of Nimal Punchihewa as the new Chairman of the Election Commission, stated the Election Commission today.
The President had nominated Nimal Punchihewa as the new Chairman of the Election Commission.
In addition, Parliamentary Council has approved the names for the members of the Police Commission, the Social Services Commission and the Bribery and Corruption Commission.
