Chief Epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health Dr. Sudath Samaraweera today (26) assured that there was no community spread of COVID-19 yet in Sri Lanka, but that the clusters reported from Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda are large and therefore, cases are being reported from all parts of the country.
He was speaking at a media briefing held at the Health Promotion Bureau today.
"All patients currently being found are either first contacts or second contacts of the Minuwangoda or Peliyagoda clusters. We would warn the public of a community spread only if there are unconnected patients from parts of the country," he further stated.
