There are no current threats from Chinese apps, Oshadha Senanayake, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL), told the Morning today (24).
“Sri Lanka has not yet received any complaints regarding any Chinese apps, including TikTok which a large majority uses,” Senanayake further stated.
The TRCSL has currently commenced monitoring the global developments with regards to Chinese mobile applications. Senanayake added that even though certain countries have taken action against Chinese mobile applications, it was not necessary for Sri Lanka to follow suit, until such applications have been identified as potential threats to the country.No current threat from Chinese apps: TRCSL
