State Minister for Batik, Handloom, and Local Apparel Products Dayasiri Jayasekara dismissed rumors on the post of Deputy Prime Minister.
“The title of Deputy Prime Minister was fabricated by the media. I can assure you that there is no such title that is on offer in the present Government,” he stated.
“The media seems to be giving wind to rumours; then they decide to question us to turn these into factual statements.”
He added: “We are looking at constitutional amendments at present and that will be discussed and debated at Parliament.”
The State Minister made this statement during his visit to the Laksala showroom at Bauddhaloka Mawatha in Colombo 7 last evening (25).
