Sulakshana Jayawardhana, Director (Development) and Media Spokesperson of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Business Development issuing a statement on Friday (15) said the reports circulating that the tender was awarded to a Chinese company for a higher bid was completely false.
The local media further reported that according to engineers attached to the Ceylon Electricity Board, the country will lose Rs.75 billion within a span of 20 years if the tender was awarded to a higher bidder.
