Virat Kohli announced on Sunday (18), the opening day of the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL), that he will stand down as Captain of IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The announcement came just days after confirming he will stop being India T20I Skipper after the format’s World Cup starting in UAE next month. Kohli, 32, will thus step back from his RCB role at the end of the current IPL but said he will remain with the same team until he plays his last IPL match. The batsman will continue to be India’s Test and ODI Captain.
