NTJ, JMI owned over 7 billion in assets
The Police have stated that the terrorist groups who carried out the Easter Sunday attacks had more than rupees seven billion in other assets.
Several search operations carried out by the security forces have revealed that the two organisations had over 140 million rupees in cash.
Police Spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara, addressing a press conference held in Colombo today (06) stated that steps are being taken to seize all assets.
Investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have revealed that a portion of the total amount had been in hard cash while the rest of the amount had been stored in multiple savings accounts.
Part of the total amount of this cash has already been seized by the CID and the rest of the bank accounts have been frozen the Police Spokesperson stated.
