NTJ leader's sister taken into custody

National Thawheed Jamath (NTJ) leader, Mohamed Zahran Hashim' s sister has been taken into custody by the Batticaloa Police for questioning. Mohamed Cassim Mohamed Niyas Madaniya had allegedly received a sum of two million rupees from her brother on 12 April prior to Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka, police investigations revealed. Reports state that she had been asked to meet her brother in Colombo in a luxury hotel where he would then hand over the sum of money which she would be told to use for NTJ activities in Batticaloa. Currently, the suspect is the only member surviving from the family of the NTJ leader.
