The old Tangalle prison complex has been converted into a detention centre for terrorist suspects, The Morning learnt.
“It has been gazetted to be converted into a detention centre,” Police Media Spokesperson SSP Jaliya Senaratne told The Morning.
He said that the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) would primarily be utilising the detention centre.
