1974 - Last day of Test cricket for West Indies legends Garry Sobers and Rohan Kanhai

1974 - The six-day Test, the last of Sir Sobers, is named the “Trinidad thriller”. England had to defend a target of 226 to take the final Test against West Indies and square the series, and they did so with just 26 runs to spare. Tony Greig was their hero taking 5/70. As England celebrated, little did they know that they would not win another Test against West Indies for 16 years

2018 - Star TV India bid $ 944 million to retain the TV and digital rights to Indian cricket for 2018 through 2023. This was in an electronic auction where they beat Sony Pictures, Facebook, and Google. The purchase came about seven months after Star bid an astonishing $ 2.55 billion for the Indian Premier League (IPL) rights for 2018-22. These made certain Star ensured they kept their tight hold on cricket rights in the game’s most lucrative market intact
