A cyclist has died after being seriously injured in a collision with a prison bus, Police said.
The accident took place near the Karuwankeni junction on the Batticaloa-Trincomalee road at around 2.45 pm yesterday (06).
A bus belonging to the Batticaloa Prison traveling from Valachchenai to Batticaloa had collided with a bicycle traveling in the same direction and the cyclist had been thrown into the middle of the road.
The cyclist had fallen into the path of another bus belonging to the Batticaloa Prison which was traveling in the same direction and had succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was a 65-year-old man.
