One missing, over 12,000 affected by Buravi cyclone

Over 12,000 people of some 3,000 families in the Eastern Provinces were affected by the Buravi cyclone, and one person has been reported missing from Chankanai, Jaffna, according to the statistics released by the Disaster Management Center as at 12 pm today (03). Mannar has been recorded as the most affected district with 2,236 families and 7,749 people affected while 831 families and 3,050 people were from Mannar town. Meanwhile, 8,299 families and 2,986 people from Jaffna district were also affected. In Kilinochchi, 10 families and 41 people were affected in Karachchi. Meanwhile, 405 families and 1,049 people were affected from Mullativu and 21 families and 91 people were affected from Trincomalee. The total affected number of families stand at 3,575 while the total number of people affected was 12,252 people.
