Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to meet with the Public Health Inspectors’ Union of Sri Lanka (PHIUSL) today (28) to resolve the ongoing trade union action launched by the public health inspectors (PHIs).
“The Union is looking forward to a favourable response to its demands at the discussion tomorrow, and until the demands are met we will not give up on the union action,” PHIUSL Chairman Upul Rohana said yesterday (27).
It has been over 10 days since the PHIUSL had commenced the union action over the alleged unfair treatment of the PHIs through the gazette issued recently on the implementation of health regulations under the quarantine laws.
