Owing to the lack of fertiliser, Rajanganaya Diriya Govi Peramuna President Thilak Lal says that only 10 to 15 percent of paddy fields have been sowed.
“The remainder have not been sowed due to the lack of fertiliser. Farmers are now helpless, vegetable prices have skyrocketed as well,” he said while speaking to the media today (23).
Lal further attributed the situation to the “bad policy decisions” taken by the Government.
“They make decisions almost like they are reacting to a bad dream. Even though fertiliser has been brought, the cultivation season is over,” he concluded.
