A total of 943 personnel including 32 MPs have undergone PCR tests at Parliamentary complex so far but only nine employees have tested positive, the Communication Department of Parliament said today.
It said the PCR tests were conducted on January 13 and 15 on MPs and the employees at the Parliamentary complex.
“No MP was tested positive for COVID-19. Five employees of the parliament staff, one security personnel and three personnel deployed to provide security outside the parliament tested positive,” Serjeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando said.
He said measures are being taken to identify their whereabouts and close contacts by going through CCTV footage.
“No office or department at parliament has been closed down so far,” he said.
