Aliwatte Asitha, an organized criminal, was arrested by the Mattakkuliya Police yesterday (04), Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
Police also found a hand grenade in the house where he was staying temporarily in the Wattala area.
The suspect, who is suspected to be involved in a murder that took place recently, was also wanted by the police in connection with a number of recent crimes in the Grandpass, Modara and Mattakkuliya areas.
