1,028 people have been arrested for violating quarantine rules in the past 24 hours.
Most of them have been arrested from the Matale area and that number is 158, said the Police Media Spokesman, DIG Ajith Rohana.
Meanwhile, 108 persons have been arrested in Kandy and 93 in Nikaweratiya.
According to the police, 25,886 persons have been arrested for violating the quarantine rules since October.
They have been arrested for not wearing face masks and not maintaining social distance.
Meanwhile, 976 vehicles attempting to enter the city of Colombo were diverted yesterday.
