Over 1000 persons from Bandaranayake Mawatha, Colombo 12 will be subject to quarantine procedures, according to Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva.
Lt. Gen. Silva said the 1010 persons from 242 families have been directed to quarantine centres across the country.
The measure has been taken following a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the area.
32 COVID-19 cases were reported from Bandaranayake Mawatha, Colombo 12 yesterday (20), while 15 cases were reported on Sunday (19).
