Over 125 Parliamentarians have requested Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to reconvene Parliament immediately.
The Speaker, in a letter to President Maithripala Sirisena, has said that over 125 MPs have urged him to reconvene Parliament in order to resolve the political crisis in the country.
He said that the United National Party, Illangai Thamil Arasu Katchi (TNA), JVP and Sri Lanka Muslim Congress have made the request.
The Speaker noted that Parliament must reconvene immediately in order to establish who has the majority support to govern the country.

Over 125 Parliamentarians have requested Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to reconvene Parliament immediately.
