In the past 24 hours, 433 people have been arrested for violating quarantine laws.
Most of them have been arrested from Embilipitiya and Matale, said Police Media Spokesman, DIG Ajith Rohana.
They were arrested on charges of not wearing face masks and not maintaining social distance.
So far 42,347 people have been arrested for violating quarantine laws.
The media spokesman said that legal action would be taken against them in the future under the provisions of the Prevention of Diseases Act.
