Over 500 Lankans return

Another batch of Sri Lankans stranded overseas due to the Covid-19 pandemic was brought back to the island yesterday (10). Accordingly, a SriLankan Airlines charter flight carrying a group of Sri Lankans from Australia landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday. Reportedly, 272 Sri Lankans from Melbourne, Australia have been repatriated in this manner. They have been directed to quarantine facilities as per the directives of the health authorities. Furthermore, another SriLankan Airlines charter flight carrying Sri Lankans stuck in Malaysia landed at the BIA yesterday. According to Ada Derana, 178 passengers arrived on the island. These returnees have been directed to quarantine facilities as well.
