Police have arrested 947 persons for violating the quarantine rules yesterday (02).
The highest number of arrests were made in the Matale area yesterday, Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated.
Accordingly, 163 persons were arrested in Matale.
In addition 88 persons were arrested from Kuliyapitiya and 73 from Nikaweratiya.
The total number of arrests made in relation to quarantine law violations currently stands at 21,087.
DIG Ajith Rohana also added that 67,515 vehicles had entered Colombo from 6.30 am to 9.30 am yesterday.
