Pakistan to strengthen intelligence sharing with SL to combat terrorism

Pakistan has assured its fullest support to Sri Lanka to combat drug trafficking, terrorism and extremist activities through intelligence sharing.

This assurance was given when Pakistan’s new High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Muhammad Saad Khattak met with Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne at the Ministry yesterday(30).

Khattak added that Pakistan was keen on extending technical capacities to strengthen Sri Lanka’s military capabilities.

Khattak, referring to the last year’s Easter Sunday attack said based on past experiences, both countries could implement tangible intelligence sharing to support each other to face future security threats.
