The parliament will meet for a two-hour session tomorrow from 10 am to take up for debate two new health regulations, parliamentary sources said.
Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi is scheduled to table the two new regulations under the Medical Ordinance.
Parliament’s Deputy Secretary-General and Chief of Staff Neil Iddawela told The Morning that there will be no other sessions for this week.
“The next session will be on November 12 to pass the Appropriation Bill for the year 2020,” he said.
He said health guidelines and protocols are strongly implemented at the parliamentary complex to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
However, he said no journalist would be allowed to visit the parliament to cover the session since a few parliamentary correspondents have tested positive for the virus.
“The session will be telecast live,” Mr. Iddawela said.
