Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has held initial discussions with several party leaders, the Prime Minister’s Media Division said.
All Party leaders are scheduled to meet shortly at a meeting organised by the Speaker of Parliament to decide on the next steps to be taken to resolve the situation in the country.
Meanwhile, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa informed the Prime Minister that he will respect any decision taken at the meeting.
However, leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) main Opposition party Sajith Premadasa said that he nor his Party will attend the meeting.
