The driver, an assistant and 29 passengers of a bus traveling from Eravur to Colombo have been arrested for violating inter-provincial travels restrictions.
Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the bus was stopped and inspected in the Miriswatta area in Gampaha this morning (29).
It has been revealed that it was driven in violation of inter-provincial traffic restrictions, the police spokesman said.
Accordingly, the Gampaha Police have arrested its occupants and they are to be produced before court. The bus has been seized as well.
Meanwhile, 455 people have been arrested for violating quarantine laws in the past 24 hours.
Among those arrested were 87 from Kandy, 53 from Kuliyapitiya and 51 from Elpitiya.
According to the police, 45,099 persons have been arrested for violating the quarantine rules since October.
