Passengers from Italy, South Korea and Iran to be quarantined for 14 days

The Health Ministry has taken a decision to quarantine all passengers arriving from Italy, South Korea and Iran for 14 days, Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe said today (3) . Dr. Jasinghe made these comments during a media briefing held to announce measures taken to curb the spread of the deadly virus in the country. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in South Korea has neared 5,000, the worst outside of China. 28 are reported to have died. The death toll from Italy’s coronavirus outbreak has risen to 52, an increase of 18 since Sunday, as the number of confirmed cases in Europe’s worst-hit country rose to 1,835. The virus started spreading through Iran last week, and by Monday (2) at least 66 people were dead and 1,501 cases were confirmed.
