Bandaranaike International Airport(BIA) today faced a power outage slowing down operations and inconveniencing passengers.
One of the passengers said the power outage started at approximately 9:00 a.m and lasted for 20 to 30 minutes. The power had been going on and off multiple times.
Due to the blackout atleast one lift carrying passengers stopped functioning. Airport offices are currently trying to get the passenger out.
Authorities said the outage was due to a failure in BIA's Emergency Power System.
