The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today(24) granted bail to former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka.He was released on a cash bail of Rs 25,000 and two sureties of Rs 500,000 each.
Ranawaka who was arrested and remanded over a 2016 road accident in Rajagiriya, was produced before court this morning.
According to the Speaker and the opposition, the police did not follow parliamentary norms when arresting Ranawaka.
A Satyagraha was also organised yesterday(23) by opposition parliamentarians against Patali’s arrest.
