The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing incidents of political victimization during the former government has issued summons on former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and several other former ministers.
Accordingly, former ministers Mangala Samaraweera, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Sarath Fonseka, Malik Samarawickrama and Rauff Hakeem have been summoned to appear before the Commission on 7 September.
Further, National People’s Power (NPP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan have also been summoned by the PCoI to record statements on the same day.
