A person has been shot dead in the Samurdhi Mawatha area in Nagahaveediya, Kataragama last night (06).
Police stated that the victim succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the Debarawewa Hospital.
The deceased was a 52 year old resident of the area.
Police investigations have revealed that the shooting was due to a personal dispute.
The shooter has been identified and has fled the scene.
The Kataragama Police and the Police Special Task Force have launched a joint operation to arrest the suspect.
