Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has reportedly telephoned State Minister of Prison Management and Prisoners' Rehabilitation Lohan Ratwatte and informed to resign from his portfolio immediately.
This comes after recent allegations levelled against Ratwatte which detailed that he abused his position by entering two prisons inebriated, along with attempts to assault remand prisoners at gunpoint.
Such incidents were first exclusively reported by The Morning on Monday (13).
