Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is challenging me in public, stating that he would step down as the Prime Minister and give me the way to be the Premier, but in reality he does not have the power to do and neither does he feel the pain of the citizens in the country because he has crocodile skin, says Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka.
He made this statement in parliament today (05) in response to the challenge posed by Wickremesinghe.
"He is challenging me, but in reality, he doesn't have the power to appoint me as the Prime Minister. The fact remains that he is also a person who came to parliament through a single national list. He does not have the power to even hold on to his own position, so this is all plain talk. How much more should the people suffer? How many more lives should be lost in fuel queues? How many more people should die of starvation?," said Dissanayaka.
