Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in a letter commending U.S. President Donald Trump of his efforts in bringing down the ISIS leader, recalled U.S. assistance given during and after the war against the LTTE.
"May I recall with gratitude the US assistance in defeating terrorism in Sri Lanka, especially US Government's vigilance and legal measures in denting the LTTE's international fund raising and arms procurement network," the Premier said in the letter.
Wickremesinghe pointed out that the U.S. had also provided assistance with humanitarian challenges.
