PM ready to appear before PSC

By Skandha Gunasekara Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe indicated his willingness to appear before the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing the Easter Sunday Attacks, The Sunday Morning learnt. A senior source of the PSC, speaking on the grounds of anonymity, said that Prime Minister Wickremesinghe had informed the Committee that he would be willing to testify before it should the Committee summon him. Sources said that the PSC was considering summoning both President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Wickremesinghe to testify before the Committee. State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene, former Minister of Law and Order and current Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Southern Development Sagala Ratnayake, and former Minister of Law and Order and current Minister of Public Administration and Management Ranjith Madduma Bandara would also be summoned alongside the President and Prime Minister, sources said. The next sittings of the PSC will summon officials of the Board of Investment (BOI) as well as officials of the Bank of Ceylon (BOC), sources said. The next sittings are to be held on Tuesday (25) at 2 p.m. in the Parliamentary Complex.
