The government has planned to maintain the supply of fuel for three wheelers in a manner that will not be a problem in the future, said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe during a meeting with Three Wheeler Associations yesterday (03).
This was made known via a media release from the Prime Minister's Media Division today (03).
The Prime Minister agreed to support the establishment of a three wheeler regulatory body and pointed out that the country needs $500 million a month to import the required fuel.
Therefore, discussions were held at length on measures to be taken to protect the three wheeler industry in the face of the crisis facing the country in the future.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also had a discussion with the representatives of the Petrol Station Owners' Association.
The security of the petrol stations and the regularisation of fuel supply was also discussed at the meeting.
