Three individuals apprehended by the Police for allegedly lying down and taking photographs on the Prime Minister’s bed at Temple Trees were last week released on bail by court.
The suspects were presented to the Fort Magistrate’s Court by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) on Tuesday (6). During the hearing, Magistrate Thilina Gamage had asked the Police whether the suspects had been accused only of lying down on the Prime Minister’s bed. When the Police had said ‘yes,’ the Magistrate had asked whether there were Police personnel who had also laid down on the said bed. “Yes, your Honour,” the Police had responded.
After considering the statements from both sides, the Magistrate had granted bail to the three suspects.
