Our reporter in Jaffna said that the Police had launched the special operation to curb crime in the area.
During the special operation, the Police arrested 64 suspects and took them in for questioning.
The Police said that 23 people were later released after their identity was verified.
The remaining 41 were detained for further questioning.
A search operation was conducted in Jaffna, Manipai, Chunnakam, and Kopai.
