The National Police Commission (NPC) approved the transfer of Kurunegala Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Jayalath Kithsiri to the Puttalam Police division today(9).
The National Police Commission on the 2 August revoked its own transfer approval of the DIG to Trincomalee Police division.
DIG, Jayalath is involved in breaking the highly controversial Dr. Shafi’s sterilization story to the media.
Following Jayalath's tranfer NPC has approved the promotion and appointment of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Buddhika Siriwardena as the new DIG in Charge of Kurunegala police division
