During a shootout which erupted this evening (22), a Police Constable attached to the Akuressa Police has been killed. The Constable and other Police officers had been in the Urumuththa area in Akuressa carrying out a raid to seize illicit liquor, the Police Spokesperson, SP Ruwan Gunasekara had said. So far no other casualties have been reported.
